Caribbean people upset with leaders

THERE ARE “a lot of angry citizens” in Barbados, Jamaica elsewhere in the Caribbean because the region’s leaders “haven’t delivered”.

Including himself, Governments, academics, and business leaders among that group, visiting economist Dr Peter Blair Henry said the anger was justified.

He was speaking on Thursday night at the Grande Salle, Tom Adams Financial Centre at the Central Bank’s second Caribbean Economic Forum.

Henry, who was born in Jamaica and is the Dean of New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, said these leaders had failed to demonstrate demonstrated clarity, discipline, which created distrust within the Caribbean’s populace. (SC)
