Stadium for Senior Games
THE STANDS WILL REMAIN OFF-LIMITS but the 14th edition of the Senior Games will be free and staged at the National Stadium on April 18.
Minister of Social Care and Constituency Empowerment Steve Blackett yesterday revealed at a media conference that the Games would be a one-day event this year, instead of two days, and tents and covered seating will be provided to accommodate around 2 000 spectators.
The Minister said organisers had to make adjustments to the overall programme, because of the general limitations of the Stadium, and they intended to use the other safe facilities which included the athletic track, the football field, the velodrome and outer areas to the east and south-east of the venue.
