STUDENTS TAKING THE Barbados Secondary School Entrance Examination (BSSEE) 2015 will be well prepared to do so on Tuesday, May 5.

That’s because the European Union (EU) will be distributing kits to the over 3 500 students who will be sitting the examination, also known as the 11-Plus or Common Entrance Examination.

Each school kit will comprise two pencils, one eraser, one ruler, one pouch and a sharpener. Clipboards will also be given to the schools, as part of the package, and for use by this year’s candidates as well as those taking the BSSEE in the future.

The European Union (EU), through the European Development Fund (EDF), has allocated approximately 50 million Euros towards the Barbados Human Resource Development Programme 2011-2016.  The kits are the EU’s contribution as part of its development agenda.

Ambassador Mikael Barfod will present the items to senior education officer in the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Joy Adamson in a brief ceremony on Tuesday, April 21, at 10 a.m. at St Ambrose primary School, Cypress Street, The City.

Principals of public and private primary schools, as well as the Head Girl and the Head Boy of the school, will receive the kits on behalf of their schools. (BGIS)
