USA beat Bolt and Jamaica in 4×100 relay

NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) – The United States, anchored by Ryan Bailey, won the 4×100 metres relay, defeating Usain Bolt’s Jamaica at the IAAF World Relays meet on Saturday.

The Americans, with Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay and Mike Rodgers also running, clocked 37.38 seconds with Jamaica finishing in 37.68. Jamaica set the world record of 36.84 three years ago at the London Olympics.

In other finals, the American men easily won the 4×800, clocking 7:04.84.

The United States won the women’s distance medley relay in 10:36.50, setting a world record in the new event. Kenya were second. The legs are 1 200 meters, 400, 800 and 1 600.

Nigeria took the women’s 4×200 in 1:30.52. The American women led by Allyson Felix had a big lead until she and Jeneba Tarmoh collided and dropped the baton.
