Thank you, do-it-all mums

For 365 days a year, many Barbadian mothers are also fathers to their children.

They cook, clean, make a home, love, sacrifice, are teachers, doctor, counsellors, confidantes, almost everything, often not receiving even a simple “thank you”.

However, on Sunday night, throngs of those mothers received a rousing appreciation when they attended the annual Mother’s Day show Mum This One Is For You at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

For more than four hours they were treated to some of Barbados’ most beautiful voices, dance, comedy, good food and the incredible musicianship of the Royal Barbados Police Force Band.
