Children’s champion Faith Marshall-Harris and Baptist preacher Vincent Wood are calling on authorities to act with urgency in probing the suspected suicide of 12-year-old Shamar Weekes.

At the same time, Minister of Education Ronald Jones, during a church service yesterday, said he was pained by the death of the youngster and called on adults to give support to young people.

The numbing death of the Coleridge and Parry School student, of Checker Hall, St Lucy, which occurred last Thursday night, has taken the national spotlight as the country celebrates Child Month.
