Bajan jockeys land 15 wins up North

IT WAS another dream weekend for Barbadian jockeys riding on the North American circuit as seven of them got into the winner’s enclosure at three different race tracks while winning a total of 15 races.

Northlands Park champion Rico Walcott was the most successful, winning five races over the two days, but it was Woodbine champion Patrick Husbands, who put down a brave and breathtaking piece of jockeymanship that easily would have stolen the ride of the weekend.

Husbands, who is joint fifth in the standings at Woodbine Racetrack on 14 wins, produced a gem of a ride to win with Thebarberofbrazil over seven furlongs last Friday evening.
