SAILORS are expected to be out in their numbers this weekend for the annual Harris Paints Regatta, which will bring the curtain down on the 2015 sailing season.
This prestigious two-day event, now into its 32nd year, is the longest running event on the local sailing calendar, and local sailors will be joined by one overseas entrant in Die Hard from Grenada.
Plans for this weekend’s event were outlined at a Press briefing at the Barbados Yacht Club on Wednesday by members of the organising committee, comprising Marianne Browne, director of Learn 2 Sail; chief executive officer for Harris Paints, Ian Kenyon; Ralph Johnson; Peter Burke and general manager of the Yacht Club, Tessa Prescod.
