THERE ARE efficiencies from absorbing the tax department and the Licensing Authority into the Barbados Revenue Authority.
One such efficiency is the renewal of one’s driving licence at Oistins. There must be cost savings, which was the purpose of the new authority. However, one snag is that while the licence can be renewed, one now has to go to The Pine for the photo!
So now at further cost in time and money, one has to travel to the Pine, wasting gas as there is no free bus, to wait in long lines just to get something that could be done in Oistins, and was.
The BARP office produces a renewed membership photo ID card while you wait. In fact, it took less than two minutes for mine to be done.
