IT MAY TAKE A REGIONAL effort to tackle the Sargassum seaweed that has been inundating the island’s beaches, as well as those of its neighbours.

And, said Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy, the time may be near when tourism advertising might have to include an education component about the pelagic seaweed as well.

Sealy was speaking to the Daily Nation in the wake of another massive clean-up, this one at Dover Beach, Christ Church, led by private sector companies and sanctioned by the National Conservation Commission (NCC) on Saturday.
