Call to ‘Begin Again’

TO MANY BAJANS, indeed to most New Yorkers, a summons issued by a cop to appear in court for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk isn’t a big deal.

As a matter of fact, people routinely ignore warrants and don’t turn up in court to answer them.

The trouble is if they are stopped again and an officer discovers they are wanted by the court, they can be put in handcuffs and hauled before a judge. Before that happens they may even spend a night in jail.
