IT WAS A FAMILY AFFAIR for mother, friend and counsellor Elma Grant over the weekend during a bash for her 80th birthday.
About 150 guests turned up for the special event at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre which paid tribute to the stalwart of the Brittons Hill community who wore the designation VIP for the day.
Minister of Tourism and MP for the area Richard Sealy, Senator Carol Lady Haynes, Senator Reverend David Durant, Governor of the Central Bank Dr Delisle Worrell, Ralph Boyce, entertainers Ras Iley, William “Smokey” Burke, Terry “Mexican” Arthur and businessman Abraham Naime were all in attendance for Grant, who earned a Barbados Service Medal in 2011.
