A NINE-YEAR-OLD GIRL was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) with serious injuries after the car in which she was travelling was involved in a collision with an 18-wheeler truck along Bagatelle Road, St Thomas, yesterday.

It was the second major accident of the day that pressed the services of the police and Fire Service into action after the double road fatality at Congo Road, St Philip.

Joel Odle was the back seat passenger of the compact car driven by Mark Cox, 43, of Silver Hill, Christ Church. Her mother, 34-year-old Joanne Odle, also of Silver Hill, was the front seat passenger. She and with Cox received serious injuries and were also taken to the QEH for treatment.

The other vehicle, which was transporting concrete construction slabs, was driven by 33-year-old Andre Worrell, of Black Rock, St Michael.
