Progressive, All Ah We block rivals

BARBADOS totally dominated the inaugural Caribbean Food and Volleyball Festival with All Ah We and Progressive taking the respective women’s and men’s titles and $3 000 each when the finals climaxed on Sunday at the Wildey Gymnasium.

With two teams dangerously close to national squads, All Ah We and Progressive respectively turned back challenges from Flow Sentry Brokers women and Flow Deacons men.

MVP Shari Matthews, along with Anicia Wood, Rhe-Ann Niles, Nikita Wickham, the solid Talya Layne and setter Shenell Pooler, combined to defeat Deacons 25-15, 25-15, 25-16.

Deacons men also faced a similarly strong Progressive a la national team with MVP Chioke Holder, Fabian Cox, Shawn Simpson, Rico Brathwaite and Barbados setter and captain Alain London stopping Deacons 25-21, 25-20, 25-19.
