Route plea

MINIBUS DRIVERS desperately want to return to the old route that takes them through Baxters Road, The City, on their way to the north of the island.

And they might just get their way but with certain conditions imposed by the Ministry of Transport and Works.

Interim chairman of the Association of Private Transport Operators, Morris Lee is adamant that the traffic amendment from ten years ago when construction and rehabilitation of Baxters Road was taking place must now be urgently revisited.

“Traffic going into Bridgetown was reduced to one lane . . . Baxters Road became a one-way street . . . you couldn’t come up, you could only come down,” he said.
