Swan Street cleared

AS PREDICTABLE AS Santa Claus at Christmas time, members of the Royal Barbados Police Force yesterday swooped down on vendors plying trade along Swan Street and High Street, The City, and requested permits and licences.

The annual visit was not lost on some vendors who said the practice was common especially as the Christmas season approached.

The traders were asked to take up trays and move along; even one who used a grocery shopping cart as a prop was asked to push off. 

Store owners who had mannequins and racks on the outskirts of their stores were also asked, by the dozen or so officers, to take them indoors.
