Singh’s ton keeps Pride on back foot

TWO CONTENTIOUS umpiring decisions and a brilliant century from Guyana Jaguars’ Vishal Singh were the catalysts that kept Barbados Pride in the back seat after the second day of their third round match in the WICB Professional Cricket League at the National Stadium yesterday.

Despite a lower-order batting collapse, Guyana Jaguars built on their overnight score of 170 for two to reach 337 in their first innings that saw each team collect three points for batting and bowling, respectively. Barbados Pride were reduced to 60 for four by the close.

Singh completed his second consecutive century in the tournament to lead Guyana Jaguars, who at one stage were 302 for five.

Barbados captain Kevin Stoute led the bowling with another impressive display.
