Combermere in command

Nicholls Baking Combermere placed a firm grip on the 2015 Barbados cricket Association’s Schools Final when they took a virtually unassailable position over Graydon Sealy Secondary after the second day at Bayfield, St Philip.

A commanding, unbeaten century by allrounder Shamar Springer, supported by a polished 53 not out from Zidane Clarke, spurred the Waterford-based school to 302 for six, a lead of 219 over the first-time finalists who were dismissed for 83 on the opening day.

Springer, who came to the crease after the dismissal of overweek batsman Deshawn Sylvain in the second over, subjected the Garrison lads, who were relieved by a light shower that halted play with ten overs remaining to a day of toil.
