New tech to monitor PSVs

THE reported reckless behaviour of some public  service vehicle (PSV) operators that for years has plagued  the sector, may well be  on its way to an end.

Thanks to new technologies, owners and potentially insurance companies can now keep tabs on the happenings and locations  of these vehicles.

Terry Jones, technical consultant to the largest umbrella body for the sector, Alliance Owners of Public Transport, said he believed this was a great initiative to streamline  the PSV industry.

Speaking on Sunday evening on the sidelines of an awards ceremony held at the Divi Southwinds Resort to recognise the excellence of some PSV drivers, Jones explained that the system was designed specifically for PSV operators.
