Young tourism ‘expert’ is Junior Minister

DEIGHTON GRIFFITH School’s Rashana Jones copped the prestigious title of Junior Minister of Tourism for 2016 from a field of eight yesterday.

Jones, headgirl of the Kingsland, Christ Church school, was ecstatic after narrowly defeating her peers from Alexandra, Alleyne, Graydon Sealy, Harrison College, St Ursula’s, Springer Memorial and The St Michael School during a debate at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

The students were asked to speak on volunteerism in the tourism industry and ways to attract youth travellers.

Second and third were Neshan Weekes of The St Michael School and Markeisha Carter of Springer Memorial, respectively.
