THERE IS NEED for a new facility to cater to young drug offenders in Barbados, Opposition parliamentarian Cynthia Forde said yesterday. She said the stigma associated with the Psychiatric Hospital was causing many in need of help to shy away from that facility.
Speaking yesterday during the 2016-2017 Estimates debate, Forde said a new facility was needed for both males and females.
And even though she lauded the work being done by Verdun House, she said “help was necessary” for those who have become victims of drug abuse.
