SURFING INSTRUCTOR Samuel Inniss is concerned about beach land being lost to construction.

He said he was watching developments at a construction site at Paynes Bay, St James, where workmen have erected a barricade 15 feet out from the property’s original fence.

Inniss said he wanted to know if the barricade would be removed after the construction or if the owners of the property intended to erect a guard wall in its place, since a number of properties in that area had already taken up beach space by extending their guard walls.

He said he was concerned and promptly contacted the Town and Country Planning Department. (MB)
