Owner of nursing home says ‘sorry’

“I AM SORRY”.

And with tears in her eyes the woman whose nursing home found itself at the centre of an Internet storm over a video showing one of her staff beating a patient, vowed that such an act would never happen again as she sought to reassure the families of the elderly residents.

“I have done nothing wrong,” said Pamela Hill.

“And since I saw the video I took steps to correct it. I notified the relatives, I went to the Ministry of Health. I don’t want to be labelled as not treating my patients properly because I give excellent care,” she told the MIDWEEK NATION.

Hill, whose Durants Green, Christ Church nursing home Roseville shot to notoriety yesterday, sent this message to the families of the patients there: “I am sorry but I can reassure you it is not what I stand for, it is not what I believe in. (HLE)
