Holder is road tennis champion

KIM HOLDER is $15 000 richer after winning the women’s title in the lucrative Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperative Credit Union’s Monarchs of the Court road tennis championship here on Saturday night.

Holder, a former Barbados volleyballer, defeated Sheldene Walrond, who is also a past national footballer in straight sets 21-14, 21-14 in the final at the old Cable & Wireless courts, Wildey.

Earlier, Solange Holford won the Girls’ title, defeating Tiffany Garner 21-16. (EZS)
