Sewage leak back

THE LEAKING SEWAGE on the South Coast has returned, days after the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) claimed the faulty pump was fixed.

With residents and businesses in the area fearing for their health, Minister of Health John Boyce has intervened.

Deeming the running sewage to be a “serious situation”, Boyce told the DAILY NATION yesterday his ministry was extremely concerned about the operations of the South Coast Sewage Treatment Plant in Graeme Hall, Christ Church.

Boyce said his ministry was involved in talks with the Ministry of Water Resource Management, under Dr David Estwick, but was also looking to institute more temporary measures. (AD)
