CHRIST CHURCH East Central made certain of their spot in the quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over St Michael North East in the penultimate Round of 16 match of the David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic at Eden Lodge on Monday night.

The two-time champions needed a late second-half push in order to see off a defiant St Michael North East, who were intent on making their presence felt against the favourites.

Nevertheless, staying true to their form, the men from Christ Church surged into the lead in the 11th minute. (ML)
