The Ministry of Education issued the following statement on the Combermere School.

THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, Science, Technology and Innovation wishes to inform parents and guardians of students of the Combermere School, that the school will remain closed until the Ministry of Education is satisfied that the investigative and remedial work at the Waterford site is completed.

A special Task Force has been identified to monitor and oversee the work over the next week and will continue to monitor the environment at the school.

While the work is ongoing, the school will be closed to the staff and general public so that the work can be conducted uninterrupted.

Parents and guardians of students writing CXC, CSEC and CAPE Examinations in May/June are informed that exam fees can be paid at the Finance Section of the Ministry, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St Michael.

It is expected that school will resume full operations at the Waterford site as soon as possible. The Ministry and the school’s leadership will keep parents and guardians informed over the course of the week.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation regrets any inconvenience these arrangements may cause to staff, parents and students. (BGIS)
