THE MAIN OPERATING theatres at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) will be undergoing refurbishment from next Monday, February 20, until Tuesday, February 28, to allow for important upgrades to be carried out.
According to the management of the QEH, the theatres will return to full operation on March 1.
In a statement today, management assured the public the necessary arrangements to handle urgent and emergency surgical cases during this time had been put in place.
The statement further revealed that patients who were scheduled for elective surgery had already been notified and would be rescheduled for surgery by their doctors, based on the circumstances of their individual cases.
The refurbishment exercise will improve the physical facilities and the delivery of surgical care in the hospital, the statement noted.Â
