Women and men gathering in Queen’s Park for Solidarity March

WOMEN FROM ALL walks of life are gathering in Queen’s Park for the historic first Women’s Solidarity March.

Held under the theme Reclaim Our Streets, the march is being held under the local #lifeinleggings movement which started on social media and has since spread regionally.

The march is to being attention to the issues facing women including gender-based violence and sexual assault.

Men are turning out to show their support.

One of the featured speakers will be Donnya Piggott, co-founder of the Barbados – Gays and Lesbians Against Discrimination.

The regional march will also take place in Antigua & Barbuda, Trinidad & Tobago, Dominica, The Bahamas, Guyana and Jamaica. (SAT)

Men are also joining the march.
