Breedy punches way to the top

JABALI BREEDY was voted Boxer Of The Tournament after an outstanding performance at the annual Horace Philips Memorial staged at the Kensington Bond on Saturday night.

The stylish and quick bantamweight was just too much for Dominican Simon Joseph who was stopped in the first round through a technical knockout.

It is the refereeā€™s prerogative to take such a step if there are signs that a boxer isnā€™t able to continue.

Breedy also won his previous bout in Barbados at the Caribbean Development Championships staged in December and is regarded as the islandā€™s brightest prospect for forthcoming major events. (AT)
