NEW DEMOCRATIC LABOUR Party candidate for The City, Henderson Williams, said he had been working in the constituency long before being named a candidate.
Speaking earlier this week, Williams, a businessman and director of the City Development Foundation, said there was no excuse for not helping others, whether or not one’s party was in power.
“I think this is a golden opportunity to assist The City. Over the past few years, people of The City have indicated a certain level of dissatisfaction and we are going to fix that.
“However, saying things like you can’t do anything because your Government is not in power is a cop-out to me and holds no water in my assessment. We are working with the slogan One City Working Together, where uptown and downtown is one city and we will work to push the entire city forward,” he said. (CA)
