Premier action returns

BASKETBALL IS BACK. And not a moment too soon.

Eight of nine top-flight teams will be in action today, as the Co-operators General Insurance Premier League returns from a six-week hiatus with the opening rounds of the knockout at the Barbados Community College.

NexGen Combined Schools Tridents and Hawks had their one-game play-off last night to enter the main draw, where the winner of that matchup is slated to face title contenders Lumber Company Lakers at 4 p.m.

The Husbands men will be weakened by the absence of reigning Defensive Player Of The Year Kregg Jones, who is playing professionally in Colombia. (JM)
