THE MINISTRY of Culture, Youth and Sport is acting to combat youth unemployment.

This was confirmed by Minister Stephen Lashley during the Galloping Ahead Jockey Training Project Launch in collaboration with the H.O.R.S.E Charity at the Garrison yesterday.

He revealed that considering the issues currently being faced by the Barbadian economy, there was a need to explore new ways to occupy the youth.

Lashey said there were vast problems facing the youth but unemployment was “most pertinent” and the Galloping Ahead project, which could lead to the acquisition of licences on completion, was just one way in addressing the problem. (RG)
