Traffic changes to facilitate Speightstown Sizzlin’
THE TRAVELLING PUBLIC is asked to note that on Saturday, a number of temporary road changes will be in place to facilitate the hosting of Speightstown Sizzilin’ which will be hosted in Speightstown, St Peter.
These changes are as follows:
Between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m., Queen’s Street, from its junction to Major Walk Road, to its junction with Godding’s Alley shall be closed to all vehicular traffic.
Church Street from its junction with the Speightstown By-pass Road, to Eddies Supermarket shall be a two-way street.
Major Walk Road from its junction with the Speightstown By-pass Road to its junction with Queen’s Street shall be a one-way street going in a westerly direction.
Sand Street from its junction with Queen’s Street and Major Walk Road to its junction with the Speightstown By-pass Road, shall be a one-way street going in a northerly direction.
Between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. no person shall park, or allow a vehicle to remain stationary on any of the following roads:
(a) Major Walk Road,
(b) Queen Street,
(c) Church Street,
(d) Godding’s Alley,
(e) Chapel Street,
(f) Sand Street.
No person shall park or allow a vehicle to remain stationary along the emergency route or the alternate route except for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers.
The emergency route starts at Farm Road, St Peter, and proceeds along Highway 2A, Warrens, Lodge Hill, Green Hill, Codrington, Waterford, Station Hill, Halls Road, Martindale’s Road to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The alternate route commences at Speightstown and proceeds along, Queen Street Highway I, via Holetown, St James to Spring Garden Highway, Fontabelle, Cheapside, Broad Street, Charles Duncan O’Neal Bridge, River Road, Martindale’s Road to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. (PR/NB)
