Leacock, Jones fall short in finals

COMMONWEALTH gold medallist Rivaldo Leacock and double CARIFTA gold medallist Jonothan Jones finished down the field on the final day of the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in Peru on Sunday.

Both athletes placed eighth after advancing to the finals in their events.

Leacock advanced to the final of the 400 metres hurdles with a qualifying time of 51.95 seconds.

However, he had to settle for the eighth place after crossing the finish line in 52.26 seconds. (RG)
