Animation seen as key area

ANIMATION IS VIEWED as one of the ways forward for Barbados through the current economic challenges and the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP) is blazing a trail.

The institute already hosts three-month introduction and intermediate courses in animation but on Friday it held a closing ceremony and showcase for its inaugural animation summer camp for children aged 12 to 17.

BIMAP’s director of training Kenroy Burke said officials were proud of the results.

“We are elated to play a part in the development of this industry and we felt it more than facilitated our vision for animation in Barbados. Next year it will be bigger and better with a focus on entrepreneurship,” he said. (CA)
