MINISTER OF HEALTH John Boyce is still waiting to see the impact of the ten per cent tax that was imposed on sweetened beverages two years ago.
Boyce said though there was collaboration between his ministry and beverage manufacturers, more work was needed.
He was speaking during the third annual Barbados Food Law and Industry Conference, which was held at the Accra Beach Hotel on Wednesday.
“Government has been instrumental in the provision of nutritional counselling throughout the island and the provision of guidelines on nutrition and healthy foods in schools as well as the provision of food-based dietary guidelines.” (TG)
