APPRENTICE JOCKEY Jarelle Beckles stole the spotlight despite not winning the feature Final Handicap, which went to Infrared under jockey Rasheed Hughes in the dark at the Garrison Savannah yesterday.

Beckles bagged four wins on the End Of The Season Race Day through Quality Star, Solid Gold, Sea Gold and Katara.

Defending champion jockey Rasheed Hughes landed a hat-trick, positioning himself at the head of the jockeys’ standings going into the final season.

Hughes was most impressive in the 1 800 metres feature race with the Raizman brothers’ colt Infrared, as the pair annihilated the top-class horses. The four-year-old son of Discreetly Mine out of Heat Street led from start to finish. (LY)
