THE PROPOSED sexual harassment legislation has been a long time in coming.
So says president of the National Organisation of Women (NOW), Avelyn Broome-Christie, who expressed delight that the legislation would soon be up for debate in Parliament.
Minister of Labour, Social Security and Human Resource Development Senator Esther Byer Suckoo recently announced that the Employment Sexual Harassment Bill would be on the Order Paper when Parliament resumed on September 26.
Byer Suckoo said the bill had been certified by the Attorney General’s Office and had been approved by the Cabinet for debate in Parliament. (RB)
