A redefinition of business is necessary in light of the technological age we now live in.
This was the word from Yello’s regional digital manager, Rasheed Girvan as he spoke before a large audience at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Friday, during Yello Digicon, a digital marketing conference.
With over 50 per cent of the world’s population online and 3.2 billion active users on social media, Girvan said it is imperative that businesses keep up with the technology.
He emphasised that marketing tools must match each business and in order for businesses in the region to remain internationally competitive, an evolution of their online presence must occur.
Other speakers at the conference were Sherron Washington of P3 Solutions, John Carroll of Yelp, Alicia Whalen of www.icuc.social, and Daniel Ohara of Google.
The Barbados conference was the third in the series, with the previous two held in Cayman Islands and Jamaica. (BD)
