The special polling day boxes have arrived at some counting stations.
They include Ellerton Primary School and the Valley Resource Centre, in St George South and North, respectively, and the Wildey Gymnasium for Christ Church East Central.
The last ballot box has also arrived at St Matthew’s Primary School, prompting the start of counting in St Michael North East.
Twenty-three-year-old Solutions Barbados candidate Kemar Stuart is the lone candidate at the school awaiting the results.
Meanwhile, a delay was reported in St Peter.
At the polling station at Coleridge and Parry, returning officer Roger Small said the box containing special ballots was coming from Warrens.
Two Transport Board buses, the first at 7:18 p.m. and the second at 7:35 p.m. delivered 18 ballot boxes to the station.
He reported that he was expecting a late night since there was a great voter turnout in St Peter today.
Meanwhile, at the Lodge School in St John, the majority of ballot boxes arrived at 8:10 p.m. and the special box was being awaited. (Nationnews)
