At odds. That seems to be the case in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance where Minister William Duguid and the members of his information unit were putting out differing information over the weekend.

It was last Friday, in its weekly release of roadworks for this week, that the MTW’s Information Unit revealed that “all work being done by the contractors is currently on hold”.

Two weeks prior, Arthur Construction, Brathwaite’s Construction, C.O. Williams Construction, Rayside Construction, Black Bess Quarry Ltd and Infra Inc. had been working on reconstruction, and milling and paving of roads in St Philip, St Lucy, Christ Church, St Michael, St John and St George.

When contacted on Sunday about the work of the contractors being placed on hold, Duguid said that was the first time he was hearing such information. (HLE)
