Pride parade hits the road

Scores have gathered at Rihanna Drive to take part in the inaugural Pride Barbados parade.

The controversial event which was met by resistance from members of the church comes at the end of a month filled with educational and social activities.

Those attending are not only members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community but allies as well.

The procession is expected to leave the Drive, and make its way through Bridgetown and end at Bay Street where there will be rally featuring some religious voices. (TG)
