Car gone in a flash

One minute the car was parked in his line of sight; the next he was only looking at the space where it had been.

This was the fate which befell NATION newspaper distributor Brian Williams, as a bold thief made off with his silver grey Subaru Impreza vehicle, registration number MB 9969, mere moments into the start of his deliveries Friday morning.

Williams is today cautioning fellow distributors – switch off and secure your vehicles each and every time, despite the tedium of having to do it countless times in an hour.

The theft of the car caused a delay in deliveries of newspapers to a wide swath of Bridgetown and as far as Bush Hall. Police at Central Police Station are investigating. (HLE)
