Lions ready to roar

St Andrew Lions are looking to emit a roar in their first season in the Barbados Football Association’s Premier League that will be heard as far away as football-crazy Brazil.

That goal was outlined by sponsor Kelvin Scott of Scotty’s Car Rentals as he handed over the gear as part of a three-year contract with the East Coast squad.

“We recognise that the first year in Premier football will not be easy, but we want to establish and maintain the professionalism of this team while forging a relationship with Brazil and building a cadre of players from St Andrew and St Joseph.”

“Unfortunately, many of St Andrew’s footballers are yet to see the vision of the Lions and we have had to seek players from outside the parish and, in addition to those players, we are blessed with three talented Brazilians, who can help us to build on the vision of the Lions,” he said. (KB)
