OFF TO DODDS.

BUSINESSMAN George Reginald Ivan Parris was yesterday remanded to HMP Dodds after appearing on $10 million drug charges.

The 56-year-old, of No. 318 Inchcape Terrace, Well House, St Philip, was not required to plead that on February 14, he imported 1 028.4 kilogrammes of marijuana and 39.5 grammes of cigarettes, with an estimated street value of $9 050 315, with intent to supply and traffick.

Parris, owner of Ace Recycling Ltd. and R& R Iron Works Inc. and Construction, was also charged

with having 22.7 kilogrammes of cocaine, worth $1 135 000, with intent to supply and traffick on the same date.

The father of four appeared before Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch in the St Matthias Magistrates’ Court.

Despite passionate submissions by Queen’s Counsel Michael Lashley and Hal Gollop, Parris was denied bail.
