The fourteen-year-old third form boy who “dust out” a teacher over a cell phone battery, must have been on drugs, Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch declared yesterday.

“Blood test him for drugs as well,” he told probation officer Louis Linton, “because to beat a teacher you have got to be on drugs.

“You want to beat the teacher for a cell phone battery? No, son, you don’t get to beat a teacher. You don’t get to beat anybody.”

In addition, the boy, who was remanded to the Government Industrial School for the next 28 days, will have a probation report done on him. (HLE)
