You can do it, but do it very carefully.

That was the advice of Professor Louis Francescutti, a Canadian emergency department physician, who was speaking at the Barbados Employers’ Confederation (BEC) forum on Decriminalisation of Marijuana, specifically the introduction of medicinal marijuana.

“Start measuring IQs, correlation, productivity, the drop in tourism; measure presentism, absenteeism in the work environment; measure the impact on your employment plant,” he advised the audience at Savannah Hotel, Hastings, Christ Church, earlier this week.

Francescutti said it should be mandatory, if the Government followed through with legalisation and promoting the industry, that 40 per cent be directed towards treatment. (RA)
