Santia back on the job tomorrow
Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw has completed a major phase of her cancer treatment and is coming home.
The St Michael South East representative said she was looking forward to taking over her portfolio fulltime, starting tomorrow. “I am ready to work full-time again. I am ready to get back on the ground and be with my constituents,” Bradshaw said from Miami yesterday.
She said she had come to the end of seven weeks of proton therapy, a type of radiation treatment, on Friday. Her completion of that phase of treatment entitled her to perform the symbolic gesture of ringing the bell at the proton therapy facility at the Miami Cancer Institute in South Florida to signal that milestone.
“I completed surgery in February, which was very successful, and overall I have responded well to the treatment.
“I will be back in office on Monday but will still have to attend follow-ups over the next four months,” Bradshaw said. (SP)
