The Transport Board shall be repaid for any duplicate invoicing that may have occurred through the years – but they must prove their case.
That is the word from Lloyd Brathwaite (below), managing director of Trans-Tech Inc. in Kendal Hill, Christ Church, who confirmed yesterday that it was his company that was identified in the Special Audit of the Transport Board by the Auditor General.
In that audit, it was discovered that on four occasions, the cash-strapped Transport Board was charged twice for the same work done on the same bus on the same date. This led to it paying out $257 149.08, which was $128 574.54 more than was due.
The only differences were the invoice numbers on the eight invoices submitted by the supplier, which were approved by the board’s Quality Assurance Department. (SP)
